I’m Beautiful

Beauty! "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". It's not only what's on the outside, but also what's on the inside. When most people think of the word “Beautiful,” they think of models and movie stars on the TV shows, etc... I admit I used to be one of them. I used to wish I was skinnier, had a perfect physical appearance with pointed nose, white skin, tall and black eyes”. My friends and I would talk for hours about how much we wanted to be tall, beautiful and handsome like models. Now, my perspective has drastically changed. You've got to love yourself first to have a good feeling towards yourself which makes us think that we all just perfectly beautiful. I understand that we all want to be like the top ten models, but we should know that we are unique in our own special package. We are all not the same; we were built differently, built in our own likeness, our own image and not of that a one size model.imagesIf we were supposed to be a one size model, God would have created us that way. We have to be comfortable with our own skin, know ourselves inside and out. We have to appreciate what God gave us, for life is like a box of chocolates you don't know what you get until you unwrap that package. Beauty is something that can be over looked, because we tend to see someone who is prettier then we are. Moreover, beauty from the inside is something that a lot of us take for granted because most of the time we were blinded by the beauty seen by our naked eyes; we tend not to see the beauty that a person have within. You can take the beauty out of the person, but you can never take the beauty from within. We are all beautiful in our own way, our own uniqueness, and our own likeness. I finally recognized what makes a person beautiful - Being grateful and respectful to one’s family and friends, the beauty of the heart. One may not be so handsome and so tall, but could be the most beautiful person in someone’s eye. It is important to remember that “The appearance only attracts the eyes and it is the character – the inner beauty - which attracts the heart”.
